"Rock And Roll Friend" is a cover. The song was the B-side on The Go-Betweens' 1988 single "Was There Anything I Could Do?" Franklin covered another Go-Betweens B-side solo, "Newton Told Me", on Suggestion Box.

You can hear a short parody to the tune of "Campaign Song" in the outro track for Harmless But Ultimately Unloveable/Loveless But Ultimately Unharmable, where instead of "like a jar of honey in the rain / like a donut full of Novocaine" the person sings "that Franklin Bruno guy can really sing [Campaign Song guitar riff] Looks a little bit like Sting" Peter believes this may have been Brent Rademaker from Further.

"Scapegoat" references Refrigerator's song "Sandfish" with this lyric: "heart like a starfish, quote unquote / those are the words that Allen wrote". "Sandfish" originally appeared on Refrigerator's Songs With A Story/Music For Hi-Fi Bugs 7".

The recording of "Few" on this album seems to be different than the one on the Few 7".

As mentioned in compilation Emotional Discipline's liner notes, this recording of "Undeserving" was new for the album. Another recording pre-dates it, which Kyle states in the same liner notes he prefers, and was included in the comp.
