Etchings in my 7" read KAISERINE OF THE GRAND PRIX / I <3 J EDGAR HOOVER.
These guys only put out the one 7" that I'm aware of, but they seem to have played live a lot, if the Flyers section is any indication. Here's the text from the back of the sleeve:
...PURPLE RAIN...As I was stumbling around the
UPLAND RECORDS office late one Monday morning,
grinning to myself on how the effect a record player
on a wood floor has on a crowded house party, I was
found pon some musical transcriptions. String
arrangements? A horn solo...KETCHUP!...The
ICBM'S "Fox Force Five!" sounds quite unlike those
discovered musical charts. Raw and up front. Better
than the latest musical marketing scheme or an
understudy's vocal overdubs! "Surfside Cafe" is an
impromptu musical number. No strings here nor
decaff...ITALIAN CAR CHASE...the G-MEN test
further sonic grounds with "The Family."
Unfortunately, the charts to this number were lost
before the session took place. The group left to start
from scratch. Evidence of that seession recorded here
for your listening pleasure...SKULL DUGERY...a
popular live number for the G-MEN is also included
here as a studio recording. "Go! Go! Go!" has been
known to get the most lethargic of indie/emo rockers
off their feet...WARM YET PUNCHY... "2X2 EP" on
UPLAND RECORDS is cooler than a head of lettuce!
Ya understand?Regards,
