Due to hosting constraints, bandwidth issues, etc, it isn't really feasible for me to host videos on the site. I don't want to embed from somewhere with ads, and getting the built-in video element to play things reliably anywhere is hard. Plus, mirroring the site gets harder as time goes on. Direct downloads are resource intensive. Longevity is an issue with digital video formats. Do you remember .avi files? Do you remember RealPlayer? Flash? Have you seen these damn .webp files?
But: consider the humble .gif...
Whenever there's a piece of video relevant to the site, the visual component seems worth preserving: what the rooms looked like, how the musicians interacted, the energy. Here is my solution: I can host some audio, and make some animated gifs to give you an idea of the performances or what was significant about what's on camera. Another great thing about the .gif: every .gif I downloaded in 2006 still plays when I open it off an external harddrive in 2024. Video files are more finicky for local backup; move systems, and you may have to find your codec pack and your VLC and your converter just to get by. Hopefully, whatever happens with video formats going forward, the .gif will remain openable on all kinds of devices just as it always has.
Don't worry if you're on mobile data or a limited hotspot; gifs will be openable on each page by clicking voluntarily, and not all loading at once. I remember dial-up!
Also, not all videos covered will have complete audio, but where possible I'll include it. More video coverage to come.

Nothing Painted Blue at Munchies ("Scapegoat"/"Another Child Bride") |
The person filming gives drummer Kyle Brodie more attention than the 1992 show below. You can also see other people from the scene here & there. |

Nothing Painted Blue on local TV, Riverside, 1992 "Unscheduled Train" / "Sorely Tempted" / "Smothered" / "Undeserving" / "Swivelchair" |
This program has a few camera operators who get a few different angles on the band. Franklin and Joey get most of the quality screentime. |

Wckr Spgt at Sneakers playing "Flinch Mob", 1994 | This is the Spgt lineup with Nothing Painted Blue members on deck. |

The Salvation Brothers / DiskothiQ / Shoeface / Wckr Spgt / Chicken Damage / Nothing Painted Blue / the Mountain Goats / Refrigerator |
This nearly two-hour treasure trove is the earliest video we have of Refrigerator, and the only (!) known video footage of several other bands. |

Furniture One Live at Nick's Caffe Trevi "Meat Bee Cave"/"Zero Coupon Bonds"/"Dairy Fire"/"Stinky Flower Song"/"Furniture Store"/"Amityville II: The Demon"/"Cadaver Cake"/"Imagine Dating"/"The Man Who Bent Spoons With His Mind"/"Indian Train"/"Speech Avenues In Cities"/"Lamp For Sale" |
The frequent shifting of camcorder filters and zoom here is very in keeping with the Furniture Huschle spirit. |
Some video also doesn't need a full page. For example, this 1991 recording of Wckr Spgt playing "Cream" is so low-resolution at source, it fits in a single gif file.
